But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

In 1998 Evost Pimost moved with his family from Israel to Australia.

In March 1999 Primost and Amir Bodenstein established a jointly-owned business in Australia under the trading name of Morden Paints Sydney Australia (MPSA) and leased business premises in Mortlake Street in the Sydney suburb of Concord. In 2002 they moved the MPSA premises to 136 Mitchell Street, Glebe.

From 1999 to 2001 Bodenstein travelled back and forth four times between Israel and Sydney on business. He participated in the day-to-day operations of MPSA with communications by fax and telephone. He wound up his links with Dovlar Material Systems in Israel. His family remained in Israel.

In 2001 MPSA completed the La Vigna Restaurant Project that also won the Master Painter Association Award for Excellence in Decorative Finishes. In the same year the firm completed the Arnott Residence Project that later won both the Master Painter Association Award for the Project of Year in NSW and the Decorative Material Supplied to the Project of the Year.

1. First Move

In October 1998 Evos moved with his family from Israel to Fairfield NSW, close to the house of his brother-in-law Alberto who was operating a business in the painting trade. Evos was Alberto’s trainer of special finishes back in Italy in the early 90’s.

2. Morte Lake

In March 1999, after four months of local market research and with the assistance of Evos’ Australian brother Eran, we set up our business entities under the trading name of MPSA.

We leased premises in Mortlake Street, Concord NSW and fitted it out to our business needs: studio/showroom, 2 offices, reception and storage room. In 2000 we moved MPSA to premises in 136 Mitchell Street, Glebe NSW.

From 1999 to 2001 my family remained in Israel and I traveled four times between Tel Aviv and Sydney for work. In December 2000 I had my second child as a sister to her three old brother.

In Israel I was terminating my business obligations with Dovlar Material Systems and also winding up my personal and Evos’ affairs. Evos took care of the day-to-day operations while I monitored the business from Israel on a daily basis through faxes and telephone contact. During the first three trips I stayed and worked in Sydney for a total of five months. 6 June
